Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
This policy explains what Compare My Height (comparemyheight.com) does and does not do with information when you use the site. The short version: the heights, labels and other figures you type stay in your browser, our host keeps ordinary server logs briefly, and advertising and analytics cookies are used only in the ways described here, with a way to refuse each.
What you type into a tool
Every number you enter -- a height, a label, a sex selection and everything else -- is processed entirely in your browser; nothing is saved or sent to our servers, and there are no accounts. The Height Comparison tool's shareable link encodes your entries directly in the page's own URL (readable by anyone you send that link to, the same as any URL) -- it is never transmitted to or stored by us. Close the tab, or don't share the link, and it is gone.
What our servers record
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records standard request logs (the page requested, your IP address, browser type, referring page, and time) to operate and secure the service. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors, and they are retained only for a short period under Vercel's privacy policy.
Cookies and consent
The site itself sets no cookies to function. Two categories of third-party tools may set cookies or use similar identifiers:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set only after you accept them in the cookie notice shown on your first visit if you're in a region where consent is required. Declining keeps them off; your choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked again.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are governed by Google's consent message where the law requires consent (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland). Elsewhere, Google may set them when ads load; the next section explains how to opt out of personalised advertising anywhere.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works without them.
Advertising
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites. Other third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads here; their cookies and identifiers are subject to their own policies.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices (United States) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe). How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
We use two tools to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and where visitors come from. Google Analytics 4 runs subject to the consent rules above; it is configured with IP anonymisation and we do not enable advertising features or user-level identifiers. Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookieless: it counts page views without setting any identifier on your device and without personal data, so it does not require consent. Neither tool is used to build a profile of you, and neither one ever sees the numbers you type into a calculator -- those never leave your browser.
Email you send us
If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and resolve the matter, then delete it. We do not add you to any list.
Data sources
The height percentile and average-height figures this site cites come from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC/NCHS) -- a work of the US federal government, in the public domain in the United States, freely usable without permission. See the About page for the exact table cited.
Children
Compare My Height is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Because the site holds almost nothing about you, most requests are simple. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data we hold, and to withdraw consent at any time (use the cookie notice or your browser settings; ad choices are at the links above). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information, and opting out of personalised ads is how you exercise the "do not share" choice for advertising cookies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Third parties we rely on

Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here for at least 30 days.
California privacy rights
California residents can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
